Hi ,
I am looking to buy a brand new pair of 6.5'' to put in the front door panels. Now I have Pioneer premiers' but I think they suck. Any suggestions??? I'm not really looking for components. They will be driven by my Alpine head unit (60x4), and looking for a clear sound. Get these suggestions comming, the price isn't really a problem. Thanks!!!

My car may run 18s, but I can do your taxes in 10 seconds flat.
JBO lube - they would never have enough in stock and we'd never see RodimusPrime again
A few things...
-why are you hell bent on coaxials off the HU?
-what have you got done to the doors?
-what is your budget?
-what kind of sound are you looking to get?
I realy would like to know your budget for this... I bet you could get some nice comps and a nice little amp for them cheaper than you think.
On the other hand....you have other fingers.

why are you suggesting 130 watt rms comp speakers that will need to be run off a amp to sound good? he said he running off the HU which means little 40 watt rms coaxial would prolly be better but what he should do is upgrade to an amp.....UPGRADE!!!
wys, yeah but i asked a few questions that i would expect him to answer before anyone can help either, i still see no significance of throwing out random brands without realy helping any....
illd, i dont think anything you just typed was in english. it lost me completely. lol

Allright guys, I appreciate all the help you guys are giving me. I got my hands on a 4x40watts RMS @4ohm amplifier I bought off from a friend. It the Alpine MRP-F250, like new.
Should I finish my system with Alpine speakers or something else??? I guess I will upgrade all my 4 speakers!! Thanks!
With that amp I would bridge it, when it's bridged it's capable of putting out 100W RMS to 2 4ohm speakers which will sound beautiful with the right speakers..
I'd really recommend just losing the back speakers, or simply running them off deck power if you need them, they really take away from the sound quality of the system.
If you live in the states, I would recommend checking these speakers out. Paired with that 100W amp, I think they would sound pretty tasty!

You could do alpine, but unless you're willing to fork out the cash for type-X's, they won't sound as amazing as they could.
i have that same amp, bridged to my 6.5 bostons
i love it

I'd agree on the V.2 6000s cause they can be mounted in a coax config for easy install but use this link:

scout... are those the same speakers that brad posted? i see the model numbers are the same, but the pricing doesnt match. you link says they are originally 125, when brads link says they are 135. typo on their part? if so i may have to look into these.....
also, how much and where can i find the brackets to mount them in my doors?
They are the same, my link shows the forum discount and the old original price. eD can make the MDF adapter plates you need. I think they are like $10 or $15 a set.

Feel free to give me a call at 641.792.2501 if you have any questions about the speakers.
They originally sold for $125 but we had to raise the price due to basic parts cost increase.
But the forum discount is still available for $95.
Thanks

Hi guys,
I'm new here but I was wondering why he thinks the Premiere's suck I realize they're nut the most expensive, top of the line speakers but they can't be that bad. I almost wonder if one isn't wired out of phase. As for my suggestion for 6.5" I'd try either JL or MTX. Never hear eD's so I can't rate them.
If your not goin to amp them go with coaxial speakers that don't require alot of power. If you were to put Comps in that would handle 90-100w RMS then you would definitly need an amp. Your head units proly puttin out like 20-25w rms so look for something with a high sensitivity rating. Polk audio is good, Infinity,of JBL all good brands, But it dosn't really matter what you go with if you not running any amount of power as long as you don't go to wal-mart and buy roadmasters.
I've got infinity ref. components and 6x9s runnign off my deck and I love it. Tottally no need for an amp. But I'm sure it might sound better with an amp.
Well I would recommend Bravox Audio Kevlar or Diamond Series, I will say that they compare in sound quality to morel, focal , genesis, or CDT. They sound good if powered off of the headunit and sounds great when ran off of an amplifier. I personally have the Diamond Series and Carbon Fiber Series in my car (run off of an amp) and they sound great.
