Ok i have 1 12" MTX sub, powered by a Sony Xplod 600watt amp. I got the MTX as open box so not too sure of the specs since its been couple years now, but when I turn the radio on the sub bumps up until i turn it up more, then it seems like the amp can't take it anymore and just cuts off. The power/protector (green) light comes on, but its also on when its turned on; never red.
So what I am asking, is it time to throw out the amp cuz its basically dead, or should I have a pro take a look at it? Circuit @!#$ty installed this, and even when I turn the radio on/off, or put in a cd, you can hear humming/vibration coming from the factory speakers. They did a great job with it! (sike). And I am one that doesn't know how to take the dash apart and I won't attempt to...lolz.
Anyone had this problem before? And what amp should I look into getting? I am happy with 600watt, don't need nothing else to blow my head off. And yes i know sony is not all that great but it did its job up til now (4yrs)
what sub is the mtx, 4000, 4500, 5000, ect... also what is the price range that u are looking at to get a new amp.
