i just hooked up my new type s 12' (had an old one already wired in) and when testing it out nothing happened except for some extreme dimming of my lights..
if someone with some audio experience could help me out, that would be great!
just let me know if you need any more info on the system.
thanks guys
They're probably out of phase. what amp, what coil configuration, and how do you have the subs wired up?
also what are the subs rated for i have never had this problem but it seems liek ur amp is pulling too much power ow are your ground connections i had a badd ground wire on my old sunire that would dimm the lights since i bougth my cav i have a bigger system with no PC in it and it dosent dim the lights at all
they are both dual coils and the amp is a rockford something.. also my ground is good, but the gauge of wire for + is really small going to my amp
if you need pictures of everything i shall show you
My car used to do this, It was bad gound and the Battery lead wire was rather small.
I upped to 1/0 "+" wire (which is big for most applications) and 4ga. ground.
I also did the Big 3 upgrade.
Im running 2 Alpine Type-R's with barely any dimming (only when the rpms were above 1200 did it dim).
I ran my subs and my brothers 10" solo-x (just screwing around) off a fosgate power 1000a2 amp and it didnt dim any more than it did with just ONE amp.
Im guessing a bad ground or the subs are wired incorrectly.
Is the amp getting hot at all?
Why is your + bigger than your ground? I thought if anything, the ground should be bigger.

you want to bump, then they will bump and hit real hard and a lot good.
LOL
They should be equal size for everything. If they're dual coil - are you running them on a single channel? If you are, you're probably gimping up the amp.
im running them off different channels, and also when i hook one up it plays perfectly. ill check again with the wiring from that one sub though and while i am doing this i will get some pictures
found the problem!! faulty sub wires. switched them for new ones and scared the @!#$ outta me when a bass line hit
900 watts shouldn't scare you; i fart with more wattage than that.
What kind of box are you running?? Is it designed for the sub?
