I am wondering what everyones J is doing SPL wise at Usaci shows. I have noticed that the J body platform of both generations seem to do well with just about anything you put in them. My 2 L7 12s in the compact box with a KX 1200.1 did a 144.4 in the trunk at a Usaci show. Just looking for any positive input from competitors.
144.4 is nowhere near the highest in a j if thats what your asking.
Oh no thats not what Im saying at all. I am just wondering what is the highest in a jbody.
my highest was 148.7 on a TL hoping to be louder this year with a wall
with 2 12's and 1000 watts i did 148.9, in 2 weeks i should be a little over 150 with out a wall
That was last years setup. This year I am running 2 L7 12s with 2 KX 1200.1 amp in a mid wall box, it is just a touch taller than the 1/4 window. It isn't finished by any means but has been tested using a Audio Control 3050 with a true pressure mic. It measured a 150.2 without any close out panels, and is still pressuring the whole car and trunk area. The meter used is about 2 db shy of the Usaci meter as it was compared last year. That should put me in the 153 to 154 range with all finished work and in the regulation location on the windshield. That will be good enough for a state record in MS in the modified 0-1000 class.
141.7 with 3 12's and 1400 watts
But i am now going more sq than spl
whats we running im assuming 9915s or 17s and a decent amount of power.
I should be around that ball park here once i get motivated to build.
4 DD 9515s
4 orion 2500ds
itll be walled off.
no where near what you will be using n8, plus wont you be running huge voltage as well, im pretty sure he only has stock alt, and now where near the pwer that you will be pushing, I could be wrong but I doubt it
if he is street max he is using the stock alt. Im gonna stay at 12 volts though. no 16 for me. he could be running big power though. just big battery power. he has a huge advantage over me in that he is probably not tuned to play music but just for burps. could be wrong on that though. plus his is built im just wishing mine was.
My stock AC-Delco replacment alt keeps my voltage about 13.7 warm and 14.6 cold. When batterys (3 yellow top Optimas) are fully charged it pulls down to about 12.2- 11.9 on really deep note but comes back fairly quick. Thats not too bad considering with my amps there is a potential draw of 300 amps. I am about to add 3 more batterys and upgrade alt to a 200 amp regulated at 15 volts.that should get a little more current to the amps. I wish I knew how to get my pictures uploaded to the site so I could show my new setup to you all.
I have seen 151.8 coming from the trunk with setups like yours. i think I remember seeing a wall at about 156.
152.5 In my cavalier. Walled off 18's but looking to get at 157 within the next month
I have been looking into running 2 elemental designs 19ov.2's. in about 12 cubes to 35 hz. I was just going to build a big box and set it in the rear seat. Sorry if im sounding ignorant here but whats the point off walling? because if it has any significant gains i might do it. But this is a daily driver and i would like to wrestle the box out somtimes. The box im thinking of building is 25 x 25 x 50 which is at 12.9 cubes after all displacements except for bracing.
Dont think youll be getting 50" any direction. It was hard enough to get 12 cubes(not building in the trunk and staying behind the B Pillar. And you dont wanna just throw a giant ass box back there unless you fasten it down to the car.
my rear seat is 53 wide. Maybe im not seeing everything
yeah it may be 53 inches wide at the bottom once the seat is out its not flat once you get it all flat its about 48 if i remember right and then it only goes up about 18 inches after that it angles in to 36 i think at the top. 53 wont fit. a few of us have measured this and played with it a bit.

Yea we got like 37 1/2 wide on the front baffle. So it does narrow down quite a bit. But he is talking about not taking the seats out.
119.2 bitches. LOL .... when I had a system, if you call it one.
