how do I make 160 square inches of port into a box? how is that calculated? please help me im building my wall for two 15 kicker L7 in the cavy the box will be 12 cubic feet
square inches of port is length times height only. for a square port. or slot. Round is a whole new ball game. btw that box may be a bit big for two l7s is that external dimensions. I just did 4 12s in 10.5 cubes total but your port area is
20x8
40x4
etc etc get it?
That is a very big box, maybe too big.
any suggestions on what to make it then? i want to do a wall simlilar to wysiwgs stlye of wall subs below port at the top
Maybe 8 cubes? That would be a lot more realistic for ya.
the one I just built is 11 cubes net with 145 inches of port. Also for a pair of L7's.
what kinda power are you running? The larger box is gonna have a reduced power handling0

That's quite a bit of power, i wouldn't go with a box that large either.
I also wouldn't suggest putting the port near the roof, it may look cool, but it's not the best spot for it. Go for across the bottom, or vertical on the drivers side.

lol ok so the link didnt work I designed a box that is 40 wide 32 high and 20 deep with a port 152 square inches tuned to 36.4 cubic feet at 9.7 would that work?
sounds ok to me....but your gonna have trouble fitting those dimensions into your backseat. don't forget your car tapers as it goes up, you have to account for that.

crap lol but the size is good though? could you maybe pm me the box size you said you had just built, 11 cubes 145 square inches of port??
that box wont fit in our cars bro, it was like 4 foot wide and 3 foot deep or something. made for an expedition.
Just go out to your car, and measure the maximum that you can fit, then adjust down from those numbers to meet your cubic feet requirements of your design.

ok thanks btw how did you secure the bottom of the box to the car?
carefully the gas tank is right under the seat. best bet is to the slope heading towards the trunk. lag bolt it in there. it wont move.
