Wondering how to Amp your front/rear speakers
Thursday, March 29, 2007 3:04 PM
I just bought another 4 channel amp so i could run my front and rear speakers. I've read the manual but it only tells me about subwoofers, how do i go about running them? do i go from head unit to amp then amp to speakers? or is there a better way i'm supposed to do it.
Thanks,

Ummm...Take your front and rear channel RCA's from the head unit.

Plug them into the amp

Run speaker wire from amp to speakers...1 channel/1 speaker...

Really? its that easy? lol, so i just don't use the speaker wire that goes from the head unit to the speaker, just cut it off and run it from amp to speaker?

Yes. Wire the speakers directly to the amp's channels. Why would it be any different than hooking up a subwoofer?

you want to bump, then they will bump and hit real hard and a lot good.

No..put bombtails on the end of those and move away from them very slowly...They are dead now, you must accept that.

I have no idea what your last question is asking...

Forget everything on the back of the headunit for now BESIDES the Front and Rear RCA outputs....

Run some cables from those to the Amp...Plug speakers into amp using speaker wire...Enjoy the much much better sound..

What kind of amp?

you need a 3 chanel head unit. ie sub, front, back rca outputs on the back. and wire up like the sub only select on the amp 'full" instead of 'sub' (should have a switch)
