Where am I able to find out how big a box should be in order to get decent sound quality out of it. I am making a ported box for a 12' sub. Any help would be appreciated.
I know there's a forum dedicated to just car audio but for some reason I can't find it. I had it saved as a book mark on my computer but then I reformatted it and didn't save the links

just read your book you got with your sub if you still have it. It will tell you exactly what to build.
im currently building a box for my kicker S12L7 and will get pics up asap but if you want sound quality, you want a sealed box thats close to your subs max enclosure vol. ported boxes are only good for lots of deep bass, not to mention a ported box will lower the power handling of your sub.
many changes in the making
my favorite part about doing bodywork,.......... bondo bugers
Oh I did not know that the port would lower it the power handling. Guess I don't need help with making one anymore lol. Thanks for everyone's help.

Wait? Lower powerhandling? Ported boxes are supposed to make the bass louder at certain frequencies, mainly what the port is tuned to. How does a ported box make the sub louder than if it were in a sealed box and yet reduce the power handling of the sub?
and a sealed box will not sound better than a ported one. if your box is built right and done right then the sound quality will be fine. just louder. .
