Break lights ?
Tuesday, March 20, 2007 6:42 AM
Ok this has to do with my breaks coming on if i don't pump the pedal hard before i get out of it after I'm done driving. this has to do with the cold yet again i believe because it will be soft enough when i first start out that when i use the breaks it comes up what seems all the way but just not enough for the lights to come off so i have to use my toe to push it back up but same as the radio after the car gets warm from the heat they work fine and sometimes i forget to pump the breaks before i get out and then hours later i notice they are on and have to run out and pump the pedal. any ideas and fixes for this problem would be really nice

Your break switch maybe.

To gain access to the BRAKE SWITCH and BRAKE wire, you will need to remove this BLACK cover held in place by (1) 7mm bolt seen in this picture that covers the Brake Switch.

With the BRAKE SWITCH Cover removed, you can now see the BRAKE SWITCH and the BRAKE SWITCH Plugs, the (+) WHITE BRAKE wire is in the GRAY Plug in this picture.

well i think that could have been the problem because after i removed the cover i pushed on the round white thing right up against the metal and it wasn't pushed all the way in i think that means the switch wasn't out as far as it should have been so that the break even if it was up to normal that it wouldn't push the break switch enough. thanks and I'll update after a few days to say if thats what it was

That would do it, if the switch isn't all the way in you won't have good contact.
