I have 1 Sony Xplod XM-2200GTX amp pushing my 2 Audiobahn subs and I am looking to get another amp to run my mids. I have my amp mount upside down so my cables go from left to right as follows:
Batt. + Batt - Remote Speaker 1 RCAS Speaker 2
The reason I included that is because I wan to keep my trunk setup[ relatively clean so I would like to find an amp that would run the same way or even the opposite from right to left. But the terminals must all be on 1 side. I was looking at just geting another XM-2200 does anyone know if I can run 4 speakers off 2 channels?

yea, getting a 4 channel gives you right left balance and forward backward fading, plus, chances are that you have bigger speakers in the back mounts than you do the front mounts, so if you bridge the speakers and give them the max wattage for your bigger speakers, you're gonna cook your smaller ones after a while. Your best bet right now is to get a 4 channel and wire one speaker per channel. Or you can go all out and get 2 more amps, one for each pair, but that gets complicated since you will probably have to upgrade your wiring a bit and run more wires than with a standard 4 channel. Personally I'd recommend upgrading all 4 of your speakers so they're all the same, and then you can bridge from there, you just won't get your fade since you will want your music in stereo. So if you bridge your amp to run the front and back in pairs then you'll lose stereo since left and right are getting the exact same signal (cuts out on inharmonic distortion such as dissinence ((spelling?))). Then if you bridge to make your left speakers the same channel and your right speakers the other channel, then you MUST either have all 4 speakers be the same wattage or vary the wattage within the limits of the weakest speaker in the pair, and this setup lets you keep sterio since right and left are different channels. As you can see doing a 4 channel is much easier and gives you more flexibility, however costs a bit more. And for your amp, check out www.woofersetc.com, I got a 400.1 kicker amp there for just over 280 shipped. They've got damn near everything 10-50% off except for alpine stuff, you only get like 2-8% off since it's a high quality brand. hope this helped. Ps. do as much research as you can before you buy another amp. Learn this stuff, I've spend the past month taking in all I can and when I look back on it, if I never did my homework I could have made some very stupid errors. Step one: search this forum, step two: go from there. good luck
Well what is so bad about Sony?

They don't call it the "Xplode" series for nothing!
Yea I agree sony is junk. Anything you can buy at walmart cant really be that good. however I did use there speaker wire. But i think a good quality amp would be something along the lines of eclipse or memphis. The eclipse has all the terminals on one side. Not to mention that it does not say the max rating all over the box to trick people.
Ok so what does everyone fell about Volfenhag?

Ok I have determined that my subs are wired up in parallel at 1 ohm. My subs are dual 4 ohms. Now I was looking at my amps specs and it only describes the wattage for 4 ohm loads how would i figure out how much wattage I am getting to my subs?

IF it does not give the 1-ohm specs it probally not 1-ohm stable, not all amps are made for 1-0hm and if its not your amps gonna die.
Ok I am by no means a wiring genius when it comes to amps so here is what I got
Sony XM-2200GTX Amp 1200 watt 2 channel 200 watt x 2 @ 4 ohms 500 watt x 1 @ 4 ohm both are RMS
Audiobahn $"x6" door speakers 80 watts RMS 160 watts peak
Audiobahn 6.5" components 140 watts RMS not sure of peak
Lightning Audion 6"x9" 75 watts RMS 225 Peak
Audioban AW1251T 12" subs (2) 400 watts RMS 800 watts peak
Now with that all being said I was checkin out these Blaupunkt amps. GT4A special is the model and heres the stats on them.
750 watt 4/3/2 channel 110 watts x 4 peak @ 4 ohms 85 watts RMS x 4 @ 2 ohms 375 watts x 2 @ 4 ohms
2 ohm stable 4 ohm stable bridged
I was wondering if I could use 1 to power my subs by bridging it and the other to power my mids? Any thoughts anyone?

I found a couple MA Audio 400 watt amps and was planning on using them for the subs and a 4 channel MA Audio for my mids how does this sound? I mean quality wise.

I had MA Audio amps, the Core series and they really sucked. I used to have all MA Audio setup, amps speakers and HU and it sucked so much. That's why I went Alpine.
i think someone has spent too much time on ebay lately.
