Just went out and bought infinity 6x9's for the reart deck of my 02 sunfire...Took everything apart...and then went to see if they fit, and no way..not at all, they sit almost more then an inch from the metal...what would be the best way to fit then?
Help is appreciated.
thanks, Tom.
You take the stock mounting bracket for the 6x9's and screw ur new speakers in to them, and then if they don't fit like that, bend the metal until they do.

you want to bump, then they will bump and hit real hard and a lot good.
LOL
They come with spacers. You put the spacer between your stock bracket and your new speaker. They should be in the box . Its a tight fit but it works.
Same thing with my polk audio 6x9s gonna have to do alot of cutting to get them to fit, the basket is way to big
I just bent the metal around the hole with some pliars until my infinity's didnt fit, takes a good bit too.
haha i had the exact same problem with my infinity 6x9 you got bend alot of metal to get those to fit they dont fit it the spacer for the stocks so i bolted mine directly to the metal it was a pain in the ass to drill holes to mount it straight to the metal though because its such a tight space between the glass and rear deck.i really have no idea why they say those will fit.
