Hey, I've currently got some sony xplods in my car right now (2 4x6's and 2 6x9's) I'm getting an amp that's 400 Watts and I'm gonna run 2 subs with it, using it's full 400 watt potential. Now, I plan on upgrading from my sonys to something better, however nothing insane, I only have 200 to spend for the 4x6's and the same for my 6x9's. I was wondering what is the best brand (model too?) to get for loudness and crispness. Also, I know that 6.5 is better than a 4x6 or 6x9 (basically all oblong speakers) and all, but exactly why and is the difference noticeable..?...basically if I get full circle speakers will I have a better audio system than if I got the oblong ones that fit in the stock fittings...Also speaking of fittings, anyone know of some adaptors that will change a 6x9 into a 6.5 with a side hole for a tweet? But over all the thing I need to know most is about the better brands. Thanks
Wow, my post just kind of died. lmao.
The difference is noticable from a 4x6 to a 6 1/2. May I suggest Lanzar Optidrive? Should be around the 200 mark, and they do sound good.
Go cdt audio
6.5 comp set
6x9's
But I would make an adapter and use the front 6.5 componet set in the back
i mean use 1 set in the front one set in the back 2 sets total sorry
k, thanks guys, I've been looking around for a while now and got some recommendations from some dude at work who has some experience in this area and was told that brands like kicker...etc... don't make very good mids/tweets. Now is that true? I was originally planning on going all kicker, but after hearing that, I think I'll just stick with their subs and thought about getting me some alpines:
http://www.woofersetc.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=product.display&Product_ID=2454 or some infinities:
http://www.woofersetc.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=product.display&Product_ID=2969 . but I'm not sure about the infinities or alpines because I know that alpine makes a badass deck, but not sure about the mids/tweets, and infinity is supposed to make the best subs and stuff, but again..not sure about the mids/tweets. Also, I'm not sure about CDT because I've never heard of them before, and where as the page says stuff about lack of marketing makes a kickass but not very well known speaker, I don't know what to think. CDT compared to the well known brands, exactly how are they? Plus I know I'm going 6.5" in the front, but it's still unclear about the rears now, I know that I'll need to take off some metal to make the fronts fit, so I might as well take some off to make the back ones fit, but I still don't know whether a 6x9 is better than a 6.5. A 6x9 has a bit more surface area and thus more air movement. But it emits oblong sound waves that will interact with eachother and I don't know the effects of that. Any thoughts on that would be appreciated, thanks.
i just picked up a pair of kicker 4x6's and a set of polk audio 6x9's the 4x6's sound awesome compaired to stock and as for the 6x9's havent got them in yet there to big so im gonna have to do some cutting
