i recently purchased a 2003 cavalier and am wanting to put my infinity sound system into it,.. i have an aftermarket JVC deck and want to put it in.. i looked at the sticky notes and am aware of the chimes and all that stuff.. my problem is that i bought a harness from canadian tire that will work for chev models 2000 and up.. (works for 02-04 blazer, 01-02 express van, 00-04 tracker etc) and it fits into the harness perfectly ( i don't care about my chimes and don't want to use the expensive harness with the relocation kit)..after hookin up all the wires.. the deck would not kick on.. so i took out the wires and made sure i had power and i had power.. i took apart the ground wire to check it also.. and i put the two together and the deck lit up for only one second and then it shut back down.. i unhooked it and hooked it up again and put the groun together again and it lit up for a second and shut off soon after.. i'm thinkin that there is a safety of some sort on the harness or soemthing.. any help would be greatly appreciated .. thanks
you have to run the red power wire to a power sorce...such as the fuse box
so i can run it to the ignition or headlights in the fusebox ?
oh, on another note.. the ground wire.. do i just connect it to the black wire from the harness or connect it to the frame?
You can do either but it will probally be easier to do the harness. but either one works.
