alpine cva1005 help

if anny one has or had one i could use some help. i got an alpine cva-1005 brain off ebay and hooked it all up to the screen and dvd player i already had (and a changer but waiting on the cabel). it turns on but on the main selection screen it only gives me the nav. and radio options and wont let me select the aux inputs. ive tryed it with and without the brake bypass. when i told a guy at a local stereo install shop he said that it should show both aux inputs and the brain isnt working properly. is there annything i can do short of sending the whole thing in to alpind to be fixed?

I bet you have to turn them on.
What screen do you have. I was reading a users manual that said to go into the initialaztion menu and turn on AUX1/AUX2.
