I have 2 10's in the back and a 2 channel amp rated i think 2500w that is powering the amps, Would a mono amp make my subs hit better and will a mono power 2 subs? thanks and my subs are 300rms each i think. Is my amp to much for my subs? thanks all opinions and advice welcome
2 stage 1 Rockford subs and a lanzar mxz 524
That amp probably puts out around 400 watt rms per channel, so I would say yes.
a mono amp can power 2 subs but its better to have them on sepreate chanels. if you turn down the amp and its still to much (i had this problem) then you need to get a smaller amp or bigger subs (like i did

)
those lanzars are quite powerful, my frend has a 1300w digatal one powering 2 12" type r's, so youre subs probaly cant handle the continus power from the amp.
The amp you have right now is fine for those subs. And actually, it's most of the time better to have a monoblock than a 2 channel. Most 2 channels are a class a/b and monoblocks are a class d, which are a little more efficient.
It would be so much easier if the amplifier manufacturers would quit lying about what the output of the amp is. I agree with Lanman your amp and subs are a fine match. One thing to keep in mind is that you will blow your sub faster by under-powering it then by overpowering it. If you hear distortion then you are damaging the sub. Distortion is caused from either not enough power or when you push the speaker beyond its mechanical limits. What kind of music do you listen to and what kind of box do you have the subs in? If you want more bass I could make some suggestions, depending on your music preferences.
