so i got my buddy a practically brand new 15" RE SX with a crossfire VR1000D(1350ish RMS) and one day it just stopped working, i put my DMM on it and nothing came up so i thought maybe the speaker wires came loose inside the box, remove the sub and both coils don't read anything, tinsel leads look fine and are still silver in color, cone moves freely and i don't see any voice coils inside the magnet hole
any ideas?id take pics but im at my dads and don't have my digi on me

is the spider ripped?
Keep the dmm on it and move the cone by hand. see what happens.
i tried keeping the volt meter on it and pushing on the cone and nothing comes up, i tried it on all the ohm settings (2000K,200K,20K,2000,200) some poeple think the coil seperated from teh cone

That could very well be, usually tinsels snapping cause that. Did you try measuring from the tinsel leads instead of the terminals? Does it smell funky?

I dont think its much of a downgrade considering my W6 works and your SX well... Doesnt.
