ok this has me so freakin pissed off. All i did was disconnect the power wire from the battery of the car and run my amp wire and RCAs and now when i plug my power wire back in the freakin shave door handle brain doesn't work. When i push the botton it does a buzz sound and thats it. What the hell happend?
What buzzes exactly, the brain unit or the solenoids? Check connections on all of them of course
well if i press channel 1 it buzzes both the brain and the selnoid. if i press 2 its just the brain and it makes a different kinda buzz. Also i have the power runnin off a power block under my dash and my gauges are also on that same block and when i hit the buttons the gauges freak out and go really really freakin dim.
i'd say something got either disconnected (ground wise) or you cross wired something...
watch for flying sparks!!!
Do you have this off of constant power to the battery? Gimmie a call bro.
well i have it runnin like this. from the battery-4 gauge wiring runnin to a powerblock then through the 2 power wires that have a 30 and 15 fuse on them to the brain that came with the kit. both fuses arnt blown. This happend once before to me. I was weldin the door plates in and i reconnected the battery termnals and hit the botton and nothing happend. I thought i killed the brain becuase of the weldin but when i took the ground off from the welder the poppers worked again.
well i took it out and took it apart and nothings burnt or brown or lookin like its fried. I dnno whats goin on all the wiring is fine. The only thign i can think of what happend is that i had the wire for the #4 channel hangin out to hook up my trunk popper and it had alittle bit of bare wire at the end. maybe when i connected the power back to it it maybe shorted? i dunno. Can you buy just the brain?
It could also be a bad ground. If you haven't done so already, run a ground from the popper ALL the way to the frame/unibody (the door is not the best grounding location).
I had some issues with mine a while ago, and running a better ground solved them... well that is until my Autoloc poppers decided to completely fail on me.
For my poppers I ran a ground from that middle dash thing out, and have it connected to the ground for the solenoids.
drivers side ground i have hooked to yhe steerin column under the dash and the pass side its hooked to a self tappin screw that i drilled into the floor right inside the panel there. I seriously dont know whats wrong. I tried emailin Spal to the link on their site about the problem but it came back that it failed to go through.
