I know its been asked, but the thread didnt help me at all..
I am 99.9% sure im going with ED 19ov. Just one of them with around 1000w.
I was all set untill i started reading specs. Two Alpine Type Rs(Which I was very happy with by the way) push .14ft^3 whereas one 19ov pushes 10ft^3..
Although I love good SQ, i never really had to worry about it with the alpines....they pounded and they pounded hard, while still leaving me with crisp sound..BUT I lovvvve to be able to crank it up and make my mirrors fall of. Alex has been very helpful but he is only one man..and id like the opinion of others...
Am i going to pull more bass from the alpines? Or what
prolly more from the type r's as there is more cone area there. but I'll let some of the higher ups confirm this. they will I think be louder.

2009 Ford Mustang V6
Thanks, that was my thought, but its not everything...
I mean Im looking at the type R's simply for the fact they do have more cone area and can take gobs and gobs of power...
same amoutn of power and same type of box. the two 12s should be louder. now the 19 will drop like there is no tomorrow. meaning it will play the lows with much more authority.
See thats one thing Im looking for...low low bass notes...
then the bigger speaker is where its at. maybe look into two type r 15s
ehh out of my stereo budget right now...I mean iv considered it, but it would cut into other things...im trying not to spend more than 1500 of my tax return and definitely don't want to dip into savings at all...
Well How about this for a comparison...
Two Type R 12's in a Sealed Q logic Box Vs. 1 19Ov in a Ported Box tuned to 35hz...
Which would you would be louder? I loooooove gobs of deep bass....so thats pushing me more twords the ED.
id go with alpine from what ive been reading lately about ed. Maybe they have treated memebrs on here well but in the past have its been rather shady. Im sure either way alex will treat you right tho..just what ive read..not personal experience..phil
the ed ported to 35htz will go wayyy lower IMO then the alpine type r's
watch for flying sparks!!!

Im getting that from alot of other forums..But it seems to me that people are more upset with the owner than the product...
Im starting to find alot of other subs now to...I was looking at a FI BTL 18in, but I dont want to change one of my amps out and i definitly would need to do that.
The Alpines are really hyped up...i mean every one loves them because of there potential..but i don't know...i want something better if possible on my budget
What is your buget? personally id go with the fi any day over the alpines or ed..yes most of the issues with ed has been the owner but alot has also been customer service..(again what ive read) fi is awsome you dont have to get the btl tho the line lower will play loud and nice as well..also look up AudioQue hd3..they make some nice drivers..there is many many more less known products out there that will pound like no tommorow and doesnt carry the hefty price tag..phil

Yes Im well aware of the other ones. I looked at the HD3, but the wait time and price pushed me away...
I want FI mainly because I am @!#$ in love with RE..and from what owners of both RE and FI say, its the same as RE. Cheap today and by next year it will be double the price once the name gets out...
I actually am Planning on an 18 BL cause I dont want to upgrade the Amp at all. But then again thats if i dont go with ED.
If you compare specs, the FI BL is first of all MASSIVE but the specs absolutly kill that of 2 12in Alpines..whereas the ED 19ov.2 is actually less...
The 2 12" drivers have roughly 226sq inches of cone area, while the typical 18" has 254 sq inches... The 18" has more cone area.

In either situation, If there is anything that I can assist you with, please let me know.
I was a customer of eD before being an employee.
I was around for the whole drama in 03',04', and 05', as a customer and know both sides of the story
But due to the value and amazing customer service that I encountered, I choose to take stick with the company, the took a job in early 06'.
The only employees that deal with customers at this point are Chris (used to be a supervisor at Amazon.com), I (used to be a parts store manager) and Le (our admin. assitant). Anyone who helped customers in 03'04' or 05' has been streamlined from the company.
We strive to make sure things get taken care of quickly, and make the experience enjoyable.
