Switching Pioneer Head Units

I have a Pioneer DEH-P3600. My friend has a Pioneer DEH-P6700MP. I have a Alpine amp and two Alpine 12" subs. If I put his head unit in my car (pending the harness is correct) , should everything work well? Could there be any sound quality loss, or should it be a simple swap? Thanks.

assuming the harness is the same, you should be all set. You'll have to retune everything on the new deck though as it won't be set the way your old one was.

I have the premier 6700....which is the same model. I have it connected with 2 x 10's and sounds very good....you should be fine
the only thing I did is that I connected the power wire directly to the battery, of course you have to have tha acc wire connected to the ign fuse....well thats me
