I have 2 12in Alpine Type Rs.

Can someone give me the specs I need to make a box...

My Woofer X max and the Driver Displacement are what I cant figure out.

Id like it tuned to 32hz...does that sound right? I want something loud as hell, but useful in everyday listening

Thanks, big help, turns out the link I posted, and had saved in bookmarks, was the one with my speaker specs already there....

So, how many cubes should i use and what should I tune it to?

Also this may sound stupid but where the hell do the subs go on that box??

I've got that pulled up right now and your xmax and woofer displacement are alright. Are you looking for one common chamber box or separate chambers. The manual CLAIMS ideal internal volume to be 1.3 cubic feet per sub which you're exceeding by a good margin, but I've never had a Type R and can't comment on the larger box. I'm sure someone has experience with them and can help on the volume though. 32hz is fine.

Posted right after you so good deal on the specs. The subs would be mounted on the red panel as you're looking at it from the top.

Wouldn't you tune it higher if you wanted more spl?? and the tuning will depend if you fire the box out the trunk or into car...

Higer tune would be louder, but he said he wanted something for everyday listening. 35hz would be as high as I'd go.

Yep, someone sent me a link, with good info about that...30-35 is the best of both worlds...35 being the highest they would go...

So you guys wouldn't push it and pump it up to 40?

I wish I could @!#$ change it lol...i like to compete in smaller completions, that are basically for bragging rights..I have an Idea right now, as I may end up with 4 subs, and I dont have the room(I do but i travel and dont wanna waste more space) and may make two boxes, one 35 and one much higher, but i wanted to give my other two subs to my girl..

Well IMO I prefer to tune it a little higher then 35 if firing out the trunk.. Its the best for the resonant frequency in our cars.. maybe 36 or 37? Mines currently 37 and it still very good for daily driving.

ths may sound like a dumb question, but how do you tune a box

By changing the dimensions of the port like the diameter or length. If you click on Rosario's link in the first post you can change the tuning frequency in the options to see what I'm referring too.

Check this link out then, not sure about space requirements but this box is tuned to 34hz.. The design with all the sizes are at the bottom.. http://www.canadiancaraudio.com/online/general-spl/24008-help-box.html
