is it possible to hook up a amp for subs from a stock cd player?
Yes.
Just need a hi to low converter.
Check your local store or ebay.

Yeah you can do it, all you'll have to do is hook up a wire to a switched 12 volt source (remote turn on for amp) then get a signal converter to hook up your RCA's.
