MDF on bottem of package tray.
Tuesday, January 09, 2007 5:57 PM
I am in the process of adding to my stereo system. I have already done the battery (yellow top), BIG 3 upgrade and upgraded the 6X9 in the rear. I still have to install the 12 disc cd changer and the SIRIUS receiver. What I am thinking of doing is mounting a sheet of MDF to the bottem of the package tray. Then mounting the changer and satellite receiver to this. I would also mount a power distribution block so when I add the amp and subwoofer in the summer the power source is already there. Basically I would like to box in the package tray. Would this help or hinder the sound from the 6X9's? Thoughts, comments, suggestions are appreciated.

if you boxed in the tray from end to end it should be large enough to not alter the sound to much, may even help in the midrange reagion, and will help protect your 6x9's from the bass waves when you do get a sub or subs
