2 kicker solobaric 15's (old round ones) in a seal spec box.......powered by a hifonics bx1500d running at 1 ohm.......142.8 on the dash and legal.......not bad for subs that are almost 10 years old, atleast i dont think so......oh yeah it was at 42 hz
and it was on a term-lab......
not bad. best i have tested with anyone near me was 137.1. of course i dont have term lab cuz im poor but the meter i have is supposedly still verry accurate.
this was at a uasci event...guy let me pay 10 bux and test all day......gotta love it
Not too sure if it is good or bad, My 2 10W7's metered 143.7db on the Term-Lab at the dash. It was at 41hz and the subs were in a Slot Ported box. 2 500/1 amps were used for the power.
you have newer speakers....prolly atleast 8 years newer and a ported box....
I'm gonna go out on a limb and guess that the 15's are about 150+ sq inches of cone area EACH. Each JL10W7 is only 59.8 square inches of cone area EACH, so 120sq inches of cone are vs. 300+ sq inches of cone area. I wasn't knocking your score, just stating I'm not sure if that is good or not. Having two 10's of any brand would be the under dog vs. 15" subs, wouldn't you think?
I have 2 12's now, Really curious as to what #'s it hits next spring. Mine is NOT for SPL, but rather for sound.
it is for the subs....you gotta think....what would this score be 8-10 years ago.....it would be pretty darn high....you get two jl 10's from back then and im sure they wouldnt hit as high as the 15's, but nice score with the 10's
thats a good score for a sealed box they say a ported box is 3 db's louder plus with the age of the subs.
im around 148 right now at the dash with around 1000 watt's and with one 12 and 300-400 watt's i did a 142.3 or 143.2. ported box's are great, but the old solo's dont do that good in ported
no they dont....im switching them out soon for some american bass vfl extremes...gonna put 1500watts on each one rms

Funny you should ask, in 2001 I hit 145.1 with 2 10W0's in a ported box with a 600 watt Precision Power PC2150. That was on the older TermPro mic. So yeah, depneds on the install and who ever built the enclosure, if they did it right or not. That 145.1 back then would atleast have been in the low 140's or high 139ish on the Term Lab meter.
You an check m stats on dbDragracing.com from when I use to compete. The highest I hit in a qualifing ruond was 149.4db w/ 4 JL 10W3D4's and 2 600 watt Precision Power Amps. Not too bad for a SEALED box. If I knew more about box building back then I would have ran ported and really hit an impresive #
I did pretty good in Street 3-4 back then and I was always the underdog, everyone else had 4-12's
the old mic was 6-8 db's off, sometimes more sometimes less since you had to adjust it every few car's. thats the main reason they came out with the termlab and got rid of the termpro mic
i bet those solos are older than 8 yrs. the squares came out when i was in middle school i think.
yeah they are real old......single 2-ohm coils....with the "extended"pole.......ill try and find out when they stopped making them.
