So the stock rear speakers... have two terminals.... Why? I assume that means they are "two way" speakers or something?
Also, how do I tell which is positive, and which is negative?
Thanks.
If there's two wires, one is positive, one is negative. If there's four wires, it's a true two-way speaker, with separate connections for each driver. Two of those would be positive, and two negative.
The up-level amplified systems in the Cavalier and Sunfire, and the Monsoon system in the Sunfire (only) have four wires at each rear speaker. They are both two-way drivers, and have an amp in the trunk on the driver's side, behind the carpet.
You can look up the wire colours in the FAQ (once it comes back online) to check which one is which... or try something like www.the12volt.com

It's got two terminals....
Where is the amp? I'm about to remove my seat to get the sub-box in, and I might as well find that amp. I take it the amp will be high level inputs instead of RCA's?
And from what I remember, the wires are black on the speakers... I'll take another look after lunch.
I found the amp, it's way in there.
ANYONE KNOW HOW TO GET THE TOP HALF OF THE REAR SEAT OUT?!??!?
to make it easy to remember dark colors are positive in the rear and lights are positive in the front.
Wouldn't the dark colors be negative? I just installed some new 6x9's in the back of a 02 cavalier and the darker colors were the negative.
