No offense man..... but come on.....
Its obvious that you have to use screws to hold the sub in the box, simply because the sub is going to be vertical and it has a magnet on the back pulling it down. Also, the sub pounding will make it move.....
Therefore, obviously you need to drill holes if there are none.
Try doing some reasearch before posting, or simply look at some pictures on the web..... www.google.com

It may not be... but even if it is not it STILL needs to be secured to the box no matter what way it is positioned

I like the horizontal screw myself
I prefer unusual screw formations. They tend to be more fun and draw more attention at shows.
so uh, how do you plan on powering this?

REALLY!? So that's why my subs keep flying all over the place, thanks for the help.
Honestly though, I just found it funny that you said it needed to be screwed in because it was vertical, which has no relation to the fact that it has to be screwed in.

just use duct tape, that's how us big boys hold our subs in.
Use a small drill bit before your use screws, then screw the woofer in.
Duct tape fixes everything...

A combination of super glue and duct tape worked well for my 15"

That's what I've always used. But I was told above I have to use screws.

Duct tape has been known to add spl - and i'm not kidding on this one
gorilla glue, liberally applied and watered with at least a 2600 psi pressure washer
oh and big three upgrade and run the sub right off the battery, full power for a loud ass sub that may show you what fusion is all aboot
make sure you run at least a 5 farad cap between the alternator and battery to keep the lights from dimming out

no BS, we have alot of canadians that come to IASCA events in Northern NY and believe you not, they use duct tape in places you'd never think... not to mention they always win!
