ok im sure im getting annoying with my constant questions...but thats how you learn, right?
i was reading the12volt.com, and i just want someone to double check my wiring.
i was using the illumination wire from the radio harness to power gauge pod lighting, accessory LED lighting, etc etc...stuff i only want on when the interior lights are on.
so obviously, for safety, i want a relay.
illumination wire will have a fuse on it, also, of course.
connector 30 to constant 12v
connector 87 to the accessories i wanna wire up (gauge pod lamps, for example)
connector 85 to ground
connector 86 to illumination wire from radio harness
85 and 86 go across the coil...
can someone just verify i did this right? i second guess myself too much.

87 - +12 volt
85 - Ground
86 - illumination from your radio
30 - anything else you wanna illuminate
does it matter if i reverse the 30 and 87 connections as you described? based on what im reading, id think it would work in both directions...but im glad im on the right track at least! i dont usually try to figure things out on my own...i prefer to be taught the proper way by someone intelligent first...builds proper habits!

That's the way I hook up relays for hooking up extra remote turn-on's for stereos - it'll also work for what you need it to do as well. 30 and 87 shouldn't matter - when it's energized those two have continuity. Try it and double check, but the way i told you definitely works.
great...i actually was right then...miracle!!
thanks man...much appreciated!
