Does anyone know of any alternatives to dynamat?
eDead from elemental designs is pretty popular around here. fatmat available on ebay is cheap too. tons of @!#$ around, just gotta search.

i prefer Fatmat myself, but there are plenty of brands out there
There are quite a few option for something cheaper than Dynamat.
Like the other guys said, and ill list a few others aswell.
eDead <--- I had to list it first..
Raamat
fatmat
cascade
secondskin
brown bread
All good options.
Another thing to consider when looking at Mat sound deadeners. look into butyl based deadeners. They stick to metal better, have a higher temperature limit, and dont smell like fresh paved roads like asphalt deadeners.

O.K., my upcoming project is to install the 100 sq ft of edead i just received in my '98 Sunfire convertible. A queston for those who have done deadening in their J: when I get the stock floor carpet removed (which by the way I'm replacing with a brand new molded carpet from
http://www.stockinteriors.com/), what am I going to find beneath it? A bare steel floor pan? Some sort of padding? Asking so I know what I'm going to be dealing with getting ready to apply the edead.
