ok, so i've had an idea passin through my head and it would use the same kind of principle as a remote sliding minivan door. you push the remote and the door slides open on it's own so you can load groceries and your kids and stuff. anyway, i was just wondering how that would work. i've never done any work with anything remote controlled so i'm not really sure. the movement's not a big deal i just don't understand what's used to unhook the latch and such. any help would be much appreciated. thanks.
well. if your gonna do it to your trunk. im not sure what you would use besides an actuator. if you used that and had an alarm with a trunk button. you could get a module that i use for Express windows and hook it up to the signal for the trunk pop wire and then wire it to the actuator and when the actuator maxes out it automatically stops. thats the only way i know of doing it and the module is like 5 bucks. the actuator is the ONLY expensive part that you would need. i think if you were smart enough you could use a window motor and a plastic gear on one of your trunk arms. that would also work i think
For the trunk, if you have the remote release, just keep that system, but install shocks on the trunk to raise it all the way up.
I love my trunk release, but sometimes it pops the truck all the way up, other times it only pops it up an inch. I'm thinking about putting shocks on mine.
it's not for the trunk. i just want to have something where i push a button and a latch releases and something slides out. basically i'm asking how i would make something like.....a motorized lambo door. or just a normal opening door motorized. you know? it has to pop the latch, then move the door open. although, the trunk shock idea was something i'd been thinking of for a little while, just never got around to doing.
maybe something like on my alarm that has a 2 signal output on 1 channel? one signal will pop the release open, and another signal to start the actuator.

Yep.
It realy isn't too hard to do. If you have any DEI remote start or alarm system all you need is the 451M relay module ($20), and a 6" linear actuator ($150ish a piece) for each door. Your challenge isn't electrical, it will be finding the correct pivot points on the arm of the door to get the actuator to open and close the door the maximum possible. As far as releasing the latch, a decent actuator will hold it in place and nothing will pull it open.

so basically what you're sayin mennitti, is that i can take the latch and striker out of the car because the actuator will hold the door in place by itself? interesting. that honestly solves a lot of my problems. i guess i can't have an exterior door handle then can i? since it would be latchless and therefore lockless?
Possibly, depending how you chose to mount the actuators. For instance, my trunk lid can be picked up about 2 inches when closed, because of the play due to the pivoting action required to make the lid open and close far enough, but the weight keeps itself closed. If anyone would try to pick it up any farther they would end up picking the whole car off the ground before the actuators would budge.
I would go to the junk yard and get the bracketry from one of those minivans you are talking about, and then spend your time modifying them just right to work on your car. If you can make that work, then the actuators should hold your door in place, which would be in the closed position.

I sell vertical door kits that are fully automatic and operate from remote.
Basically how it operates, is a solenoid pops your door latch, then a popper pops your door ajar (just like having shaved door handles). Then the actuator will lift the door.
You'll need to add a few relays onto your alarm. Back when I had my astro van, i had 3 shaved doors to open, and my entire air ride system on my remote keychain. So i had to wire up 7 extra relays (what a headache!) in order for it to work with my 4 button remote.
