Looking to sell my current setup of a 12" L7 and ZX750.1 for something that sounds better and takes up less space. I'm thinking I want a 10" for tighter bass at about 300 - 500 watts. 750 was a bit much for me. I also don't want to give up as much trunk space or weight. I want to do something like
this in fiberglass. one problem: dunno how to fiberglass. i figured this would make a good starter
. I've seen a few videos on it, but don't feel completely prepared.
for the sub, i am looking at the JL 10W3V3. What eD products would be comparable? Does anybody have any recommendations? i'm open for any ideas.
Thanks!

10's for tighter bass? 10's won't give you tighter bass than any other quality product of larger size. It will save you space usually, compared with larger modles thought. As far as fiberglassing, the only way you're going to really feel prepared is if you go and do it. I haven't ever heard any eD subs personally, but from what I read on this forum, they are AMAZING for the price and would probably be well worth your time to look into them.

you want to bump, then they will bump and hit real hard and a lot good.
LOL
It is well known that 10's produce tighter bass than 12's of a similar model. Thanks for the input
I gotta refind that thread about size and quality. It all has to do with the construction of the speaker.

It is well THOUGHT that 10's move faster then 12's. not well known, my friend
Moving mass does not dictate transient response (i.e. how fast your sub moves). The inductance of the driver is what effects the response.
anyway, back to the topic at hand. Read up on fiberglassing, be prepared before you start. and just DO IT.

Sorry for the slight delay...i was gone home for thanksgiving.
as for an eD driver that compares to the 10w3v2..
our Kv2 series is comparable to the w3v2.
and our Ov2 series is comparable to the W6v2 is sound.
With the power that you have on tap I would shoot more so for a 10" 11ov2. and with fiberglassing, shoot for .5ft^3 of airspace.

Thanks, that's the information i was looking for!
.5 cu. ft. box in the corner and if you only plan on covering it in carpet, you could do it in a weekend without much issues. as for the tighter bass comparable subs the bass isnt going to change much. only diffrence really is the 12 would maybe be able to play a couple hz lower wich doesnt mane the 10 tighter, it just means the 12 plays lower. and wich the right subs thats not even a huge deal since quality speakers can play down in the 15hz range wich you dont hear you feel.
