I was thinking about buying 2 Alpine Type R subs.
Alpine SWR-1222D
Seem like a solid idea? I saw some Audiobahns but I was told most Audiobahns are not worth the money, right?

Hey man you should really look into 2 12 kicker comps they sound amazing my car has such good sound quality with them in a sealed box but i keep my gains at half on the deck and its perfect and if i want alot of bass i just turn the adjustments up really good subs...
look into elemental design subs... a lot of people run them on here and love them. plus we get an amazing forum discount on them too.
Check out my build thread!

My buddy has two 12 audiobahns and one Type R.
I was with him when he put in the Type R, it now effectivly DOUBLED his bass, and hits much harder and deeper. Go with the Type R. EFF AUDIOBAHN, their amps are fine.... but their subs are just nasty.
You could buy my three ED 11kv.2's. They'd have more surface area than 2 12"'s.
What about 2 of these?
Kicker 12" Comp VR

Hey man as long as you have the right amout of power going to those kickers they are amazing in a sealed box and if you want alot of bass go ported with them i had one in a ported box was louder then both in a sealed box...
I was looking at the Kicker made boxes for them. The ones that say "Kicker Livin Loud" on the front. I cant seems to find a place that sells them online. Anyone know of a place? And what about a Bandpass box? I head they are not that great but I have also heard good things about them also.

I can get 2 Kicker 12 comps for $100 less than the X12's from FI Audio. Is it really worth $100 more? I am not really looking for the best on the block. I would think 2
Kicker CVR 12s for $144 would be a good price, right? I guess I just need a little more convencing to spend that much more hehe.
And any recomendations on a bandpass box? pros and cons? Sorry for so many questions.

you said 250 or less total...pair of FI's are well under that budget.
IMO kicker comps are low end mediocrisy at best. The FI's are well worth their cost.

I have a Alpine MRP-450 mono amp. It is 2ohm stable pushing 400watts rms. I want to wire 2 Dual 4ohm subs to a 2ohm load. I could not find a wiring diagram to do this. So I took the JL diagram that shows 1 Dual 4ohm sub on a 2ohm load:
And adjusted it to what I think would make 2 Dual 4ohm subs present a 2ohm load. Is this correct?

you can NOT wire 2 dual 4ohm subs to a 2 ohm load. either 1 ohm or 4 ohms are your options
both of those diagrams show them being wired in parallel.

But it is possibal to wire 1 Dual 4ohm sub to a 2ohm load, yes? If so... why cant you wire a second sub up the same way... 2 different sets of speaker wire? Im not saying you are worng... just what I thought you could do?

Nevermind all that, I found a set of the subs that are Dual 2ohm.... I can wire that to 2ohm Lol

you want to bump, then they will bump and hit real hard and a lot good.
