alternator interchangable?

i have a 2001 cav with the 2200 motor. i know the motors are different in a bunch of ways but i was wondering if the alternator in a 97 w/ the 2.2 motor bolt up? i have a 97 that i crashed a long time ago just chillin and i know of a place that will rewind it for more output for like $65 so it would be a cheap upgrade for me.

i believe so i replaced my alt on my 01 with an older one from a buddies cav can't remember his year though. what you do is just call up autozone and ask for the partnumber for each one. i pretended to need one for both cars. if they match up you know your good
