i'm trying to decide which on to go with. i like the deep cycle of the yellow top for obvious reasons, but that yellows gonna be an eye sore under the hood. the red top won't be - as much. but i was just wondering if anyone had repainted theirs? right now i could prolly just go with the red top cause i do not have @!#$ for stereo in the car, but i just wanted to go yellow just to get it over with.
prolly a stupid idea, but i wanted to knwo what you guys might think...

Red will be fine if you don't have much. Hell, I'm fine with a redtop (+ stock battery in trunk) and I'm running about 2000 watts total.
is it safe to have the stock battery in the trunk? wouldnt you want a sealed battery due to the fumes put off by your stock battery?
nate
you can get a relocation kit for fairly cheap that includes a box to put it in.

just get a battery cover or better yet make a battery cover for it, then you can make it look however you want w/o messin up the battery
I need to get a box for it, but it's under my amp rack right now. I don't notice any fumes really. I'll be getting a second redtop eventually
Z2FLIP4 painted his yellow top. I'm almost positive he used automotive paint to do it.

yup, I had a 1600 watt system and it ran just fine off of an optima red top battery, but i rarely ran it for a long time with the car off.....red tops are awsome if you don't run the car for a long time wihout the engine on
but as far as painting......go aheard....its just plastic
