With winter coming, and my having not having carpet or door panels since June....i figured it was time to finish applying the eDead to my car.
The floor has about 40sqft of edead V1^2 that i applied back in june. Then threw the carpet out, since it was in such bad shape. Before the carpet goes down. V4 Teklite will go down to help take care of more road noise.
Spent 2.5 hours today applying edead SE^2 to the driver door. So far I have around 30 sq feet in the right side door. Its 2 layer minimum with 3 layers being pretty standard in most spots, and places i wanted to, I applied 4 layers.. Thats 120-249 mils of deadener.
Its soo much overkill i love it. Around 15lbs of deadner in the door and im not done yet.
I also decided to seal off the holes in the door with 1/4" Mdf.. The top hole above the speaker location received a piece of mdf that was put inside the panel and then screwed through the metal into the wood and pulled it tight to the door.
The giant opening isnt finished yet, with there is enough room to apply the mdf board to the outside, its just enough clearance to allow for the door and lock rods to pass through.
I will try to get some pictures up tomarrow or monday..
The doors have had 6.5" pods fiberglassed on them for over 6 months, just no time to get it all done.

deff. get some pics up.. my winter project is too get mine sound deadenend too, with eDead as a matter of fact! cant wait to see what youve done with the doors.
Dear god that is friggin overkill, 40 sq feet did both of my doors perfectly. Midbass is piercing, and ratttle is 0 %. No to mention Noise coming from the door is next to none and it feels solid like a properly pieced euro or import now !

Alex you are a moron to think we wouldn't bug for pics of this. get to it!!
On the other hand....you have other fingers.
I just bought a 20 inch widescreen ultrasharp flat pannel..I'm going to have to subscribe to the high quality porn places now......damn
Finally a few picures.
Its not the prettiest, but gets the job done.
I still havent cut out the 1/4" mfd to fill the large hole, but once i do, then a layer of 1/4" V4 teklite will go over that.
The right side of the door has 3-4 layers and right behind the speaker there is 4 layers aswell.
Hopefully some more progress this week.

"inexpensive" not "cheap", "cheap" gives a bad representation to quality... this stuff is of very high quality

Alex, did you ever cover that big hole, and if so do you have some pics? I'm not sure exactly what is the proper procedure for deadning the doors (where exactly to put all this sound deadning mat I just bought
).

I'm not the resident expert on this but I'll chime in.
You need to prioritize budget, performance, and sound deadening here. If you wanted to you could use 400 square feet on the car and it would sound great in there, but would cost you money and performance (the weight adds up). You could save money and weight by installing 50 square feet, but it would only cover the worst areas, which would noticeably improve the sound in your ride but not nearly to the full potential of sound deadening.
A typical compromise is 70-100 square feet, which provides a very nice improvement at a decent price, without adding a second to your quarter mile. I'm installing 100 square feet right now, which will be enough to put two layers over the worst areas (for me that will be doors, firewall, and parts of the trunk) and one over places like the floor.
