On the back of the magnant is their a type x logo on it? just like the type r is red on the new models?

Theres a X on the cone in silver, but not on the magnet.
I didn't know the R had a red R on the magnet. Interesting.

Nope, the X is open. It uses some special cooling thing. Unless mine came without that plate, lol. I bought it used so never know.

Just checked crutchfield. The X doesn't have the logo.

nope no logo on mine either, the opening on the back is its cooling system. each cycle puls and pushes air thru it, cooling the sub
