Hey guys im sure you hear this enough but i screwed up, i dicided to cut the fatory wiring harness and try wiring my deck i connected the 12+ to a constant power source. my deck is getting power but not the screen. any one got any ideas?

Elaborate please. Did you connect the ignition wires? Did you try turning on the deck manually? Did you cross the 12v constants with the ignition wire? Lots of things could be wrong, but I need more info. Don't rule out that the deck is defective, also.

i connected the 12 volt to the lighter just to test if it will work and the deck ejects and makes nosies weh ni plug it in, but it wont power the screen, the deck is a sony. i may have connected the wires wrong does anyone have a color scheme for a 03 cav

but finding a factory harness and get the correct harness at BB or something...

don't cut wires...

yea i have alreadsy cut the wires and there is no harness's in my town so i would have to order it and that could take awhile to get here. and i cant wait to get my old system pumping again. i have 3 JL audio 10's pwered by a 600 watt amp the amp isnt much but it works great for now. I just need the wiring colors for a 03 cav and i should be able to get it going

why cut the factory harness? the adapter is like 15 bucks and takes 10 minutes to wire in.

This may sound odd, but disconnect the illumination/dimmer wires. Sonys + Car = issues. It happens in some cars, it could be yours. Do you get any sound?

Or better yet, pull the deck out and tell us what wire you connected to what!

i wired my deck like using with site http://installdr.com/Harnesses/GM-Wiring.pdf i have a purple and a black left over from the harness and a blue / white wire from my deck
