Okay, this is a friends amp and I was trying to help him set his gains. But the specs on the box, manual, and website say.
800W RMS @ 1 or 2 ohms.
450W RMS @ 4 ohms.
What?

same wattage @ 1 and 2 Ohms?
Yeah, I don't understand how that's even scientifically possible, since it's a mono amp, there would be no 'bridged' rating (which is the only thing that would make sense of those numbers.
its a regulated amp more than likely. Look at Jls amps. They do the same power at 1.5-4 ohms or something like that.

^^ if it was regulated then it would say the same wattage for any impeadance, not 2 different wattages
