ok I just got my HU up and running, I hooked up my amp (rockford 700s) to my subs (alpine type r 10's), and one of my subs is working, but the other one is just pushed all the way out. If you switch the wires, it's pushed all the way in. I disconnected the ground wire and took out the fuse under the hood. I replaced the fuse and the ground and it did the same thing. any ideas?

Can you post a pic or describe how you have them hooked up?
You definately have a (probably 12V) constant going to that sub, but I don't know why.
The 700s is a 2-channel amp. I have 2 wires from each channel going to each sub. I think one of my channels might be done for.

I tried hooking up the subs in series, bridging my amp. The amp was getting power, but nothing from the subs. Right now just one of my channels works.

i would have to say invest in a high quality amp thats one ohm stable, because it sure sounds like you blew the channels in the amp.
Yea I'd love to invest in a high quality amp, but I'm a broke college student

I've heard on RF amps that when one channels gets toasted, that channel usually puts out DC voltage, but no AC voltage. I used a multimeter and tested the speaker outputs on the amp and the AC voltage is about twice the DC output. Still doing some research on this but i'm not keeping my hopes up.

Well, if you can't get it to work , and your broke with no way of getting a better amp. Just bridge the subs inside the box and use one channel. That is what I'm doing with my 2 10" Blapunkts and they hit perfect. I'm running 2 10" Blaupunkt 300W subs with a 400W Visonik amp. Both channels on my amp work the reason I have my subs bridged inside the box is because the one of the connectors on the back of my box broke and I have not had the time to fix it. Probably wont since it works great the way it is.
In the planning stage for an all American TRD Cavalier.
Yea I bridged my subs today and ran both of them off of one channel, but I swear it sounds better with just the one sub. More clear I guess... Thanks tho

Bridging subs? You don't bridge them, you run them in parallel
And before you run them parallel, make sure that your amp can handle that low of a load...

you want to bump, then they will bump and hit real hard and a lot good.
LOL
Ok well I ran them in parallel...you know what I mean.
I've done this many times before and I know my amp can handle this.
I'm not really concerned with having both of my subs hooked up anymore...
I have just the one hooked up and it sounds perfect. I don't like to pound my subs anymore.
I have the sub turned way down on my HU so you can barely tell I have a sub.
I like to blend the bass in so it sounds just right.
By the way that is a humorous quote you've got there
