Hey, I have a 2002 sunfire with the Monsoon sound system. I have an ipod that I want to hook up to it (Without changing the headunit, or using an FM controller)

I went to, tweeter i think it was and they said that they make an adapter for the 2003 system. my question is, can i purchase a 2003 stereo headunit, and will it drop right in to my car no problem, or am I asking too much?

you should be able to plug and play as long as you have the security code for it.

you might need more than that i was told by GM that if you swap headunits from var to car if it is coded won't work because it stores the vin # in the radio. I tried to do the same thing w/ a customer with a 02 sunfire put in my 02 cav radio wouldn't work. you need to bring the radio and both cars for the radio to be reprogrammed, if i wrong let me know cause i lost $50 beans on it.

Ill do some research on it, I guess Ill try by calling a dealer and actually seeing if theyll have me on the request.

Well, I called a bunch of dealerships that simply told me that they didnt know. I guess Im going to a jonkyard and getting a stereo head and just trying it myself. Ill let you guys know what happens if anyones interested.
