It's because of the depth. Nothing a dremel can't take care of. There isn't a lot of room behind the factory radio.... but hey, I stuffed a JVC KD-AVX2 back there with all those damn RCA connectors after some cutting
just make it fit. it wont kill you.

40-GM10 antenna adapt.

don't waste your money on that wire harness with the chime ..
and save yourself about $110 .. then put that $110 into better wiring, speakers and amps
and it's still done right!
hey guys thanks for the comments...i already have all the harnesses and whatnot i am just upgrading cd players. I have an alpine cda-9851 that im getting bored with. I wanted an older apline cda-9833 or 35 but it is pretty much impossible to find a new one so i found the pioneer and liked the features. Does anybody got any other suggestions cd player wise?
It is possible to change the radio w/o purchasing the $120 wire harness but I wouldnt recommend it, I'd just use the GMOS01(same as GMRC1). But if you want to save a little money you'll have to buy the metra 2003 harness and run an ignition wire to the headunit for power. It does eliminate the door chime which is nice, so just dont leave your headlights on cuz ur car wont remind you to turn em off lol.... goodluck.
