Ok. so i have a Alpine MRP-M450 amp. its rated at 400RMS. the day after i got it i had to buy a new alternator because of excessive current draw. so i bought a new one and did the Big 3 and it still does the same thing. under heavy bass it goes from 14.4 volts to just under 13 when the car is at idle. when i have it revving it stays at 14.4. is this normal or is there something wrong?? any help is appreciated

nromal....below 13 should be a concern

if it goes below 13 do you know what the problem could be. ill try and get a vid or something in the next coupld of days

Below 13 at idle isn't too bad.

My car hasn't seen 14.4 @ speed since I put the 800w amp in (14.2)

Idle, I hit 13.0 after a bit

it's normal. try testing the load at the amp when you play it full tilt with the car on. i bet it drops to 12 or below

I love that amp. I recommend it to people who want bass but don't want too much. That baby hooked up to some 10" Type E's is an awesome combo as well.

My car drops to about 13 at idle as well when the bass hits.

you could always install i 1 farad capacitor, if its that much of a concern. but as long as your about 10 volts youll be fine
