What amps does my stock altenator run at in a 2000 cavalier with the 2200? and what high output altenator could i run without having to replace all the wiring?? thanks guys.
the stock alt is 105 amps the 2200/2.2 you can fit a 300 amp alt on there
300??? where would i get one of those???
thanks
300 isn't necessary unless you're running some really intense electrical upgrades. I personally bought a 200 amp from
www.motorcityreman.com. They have very reasonable prices IMO. The only thing is, they are obviously remanufactured, but they test each one before it leaves the plant.
im looking for one for my 2000 z24

First off, if you are really wanting to upgrade, you are going to want to upgrade the wiring as well. Second, what is it you are wanting to install in your car? No sense in buying a 300 amp alternator if you aren't going to need it. That would be one heck of a waste of money.
