reverse light wiring

Alright i didn't know if i should post this in the exterior form or in here, but since its about wiring i posted in here. Now my question is this. I'm swapping my 1998 Sunfire SE rear bumper out with a 2001 Sunfire rear bumper with the reverse lights in the bumper. Now what do i have to do to wire up the lights in the bumper like the ones that are in the trunk bezel on mine? i'm completely removing the lights in the trunk bezel and want to use the bumper lights. Is it a simple reroute the wires and splice the wires together or is there something else that i need to do. I'm cuttin the pigtails off with the bulb sockets attached.

Should just be a simple reroute.

well i know/think the plugs are different between them so i know ill have to splice the new sockets on the old wires and the wires probably need extended.

Right. Sorry, I should have elaborated there. Run wires to extend the existing ones, and put the new pigtails on. Make sure you use a decent gauge wire for your extention./font]

I would first trace the wiring back off the trunk lid to where it meets up with the main harness for the rest of the lighting and splice from there. You can then trim the old sockets at the main harness or keep the 95-99 bezel and either do the Toyo tail wiring mod w/ some amber 3056's or red bulbs for extra park/brake lights... I've done both. Now just have the park/brake lights there (but no reverse )

easy way to do this; go get some 16 gauge wire or something close to that, remove the wires going to trunk lid from the wireloom and trace them back behind the carpet.on the left side (driver side) you will see a black gromet going though the body near the floor push your two wires or how ever it is not sure through that then go under the car splice in new bulb sockets, then throw it in revers and light up the road

I think green on the 95-99 harness is power. I'll have to check this evening.
