Weird Problem! Experts Help Needed.

Greetings All,

The problem is as follows, I have a mono channel amp for my 2 12" subs which is working perfectly and a 4 channel amp running my 4 speakers. my rear speakers work just fine. As for my front speaker, I noticed that they sound really weak, so I turned off everything else and kept them on to find what the problem is. Heres what I have so far, when I turn the "Bass Filter" for the front speakers on low (the bass filter has 3 settings, low: which allows big amounts of bass through the speakers, medium, and high which allows zero bass.), so when i out it on low I hear the bass only without the music! when I put it on high, I hear nothing.

Basically my front speakers only play bass and not music.

I switched my front and rear wiring at the amp, rear ones worked again, front has no music, only bass.
The speakers are infinity 6.5 and are brand new.

Any idea what could be causing this!!!???

Thanx

I would guess that the tweeters are blown on the speakers. Read the post I just made about Infinity... their products are going downhill.

Does your 4 channel have a setting like lpf/full/hpf?

That's funny I don't have any issues with my speakers whatsoever. And your Basslink worked for 3.5 years, some people can't keep their car running that long if they even keep it that long. Did you buy that off E-bay (you compared yours to others sold on E-bay) or from Crutchfield?

On-topic, I would have to agree with Ian, sounds like the tweeters are blown, or you could have a loose wire /connector in there, might as well take em out and look at real good before tossing them.
