the only real differance between 2,3,4,5,6+ way coaxial speakers are the power handling and overall freq range.

a 2 way is a midrange woofer and a high freq tweeter, A 3way ( snicker ) is a midrange woofer high and ultra high tweeter.

Really anything higher than an ultra high tweeter is pointless unless you want dogs to hear it only.

Componet systems are always better, But remember it YOUR CHOICE if you want rear speakers. Some people on the forums are absolutely against it. Im not.

I only have my rear speakers going when I have passengers in the rear, for the most part they are faded off.

IF, and this is a big IF, but.. IF you must run rear fill, just do the basic 2 way, leave them on head unit power and fade more to the front... honestly...set ur front stage up properly, who wants all the music behind them???? not even your rear passengers want that

A good set of components properly amped for the front

you want to bump, then they will bump and hit real hard and a lot good.

i would say a 2 way component set for the front is sufficient and amp em up, whats ur budget?

just planning for the future really. nothing set in stone.
my "hopeful" plan is to setup a carputer. put in a decent soundcard, run it into a Audio Control three.1 processor link here and then into a 4 channel amp. 6.5's in the front and 6x9's in the rear, probably Cadence units.
or, possibly relocating my current HU into the center console and using the aux in for the carputer input. then use the HU's outputs to the 4 channel amp.

I would still say try the sound without the rear speakers, allowing the holes to vent a lil more bass from the sub(s) into the cabin... or if u wanna leave em, just leave em on deck power, fade to the front a bit more, and focus on building a good front stage

I'm still unsure about subs in the trunk. I like the space. I might end up throwing a Basslink in there.

pair of sealed 10s, wouldnt take up much room, would even say build the box to be deep enough just to clear the subs and like an inch or 2, then get the airspace from the width and height... a pair of 10s sealed would be able to pull that off, eD 11Kv2's dont hardly cost a thing either

could build a pretty small sealed box and poly fill it too to save yourself some trunk space

polygill will only trick the sub to a certain point, building the box to specs to begin with would be a better way to do it... honestly, a pair of 10s sealed would take up VERY minimal space
