Nah, it'd just sound really quiet so in the end it wouldn't be worth it.
Unfortunately, you can't connect as many things to a power source and have them all be the same loudness. That'd be cool though cause you could buy a 1000 watt amp and power like 50 subs and they would all be loud - lol.

dont splice them off the speakers if you got four already. ok, say for ex. now they're all rated at 8 ohms, and your HU runs at 8ohms....well if you splice them in and they're 8 ohms also, that means its gonna be running at 4ohms from your HU....bad idea, could screw up the amp in the HU.

The best thing to do is to run an amp just for the extra 6x9s if you want max power from them.
OR be smart, get a nice 2 channel amp, a good set of front components, spend some cash on sound deadener, sub(s) and amp, and set up a GOOD sound stage rather than spend money putting a ton of speakers so u can have a shlt ton of cancelation and crappy sound....but hey... who wants decent sound when u can just brag about running 12 speakers off head unit power

why do you want to amp the 6X9s? why not get some good 6.5 inch seperates up front, amp THOSE, and call it good.... get rid of the rears, no one wants music blasting at the back of their head...seriously now, why does everyone insist on spending money on some rear deck speakers and any kind of power to push them when they could easily make their car sound MUCH better otherwise????

Maybe because some people like having rear fill. Example: With my subs going, i could have the fader on Front 7 (max) for my HU, and in the back of the car all you will feel and hear are my subs. People like me, who drive with passangers, like when they can NOT ONLY feel the music, but here it as well. So in another words, Even with really loud amped front speakers, most of my passangers cant hear the music, and i keep by Bass at -4 out of -7&+7.

However, back to the topic at hand. You can tap your speaker wires to run another set of speakers, But i HIGHLY NOT RECOMMEND it. Unless your running another set of Tweets and ultra tweets, that use almost no power.
Next best thing to do is a 2 channel or 4 channel amp.

BTW, no offense. But not everbody is here for competion. When you have a competion, just turn off your other speakers and you will be fine. You shouldnt assert your Oppinion as Law. Oh and the reason why people like more then 2 speakers is for this thing called surround sound. It makes all you music sound much better, Unless of coarse your in an SPL competion.
its not competition advice is SOUND QUALITY advice... i have sat in my back seat since the system has been finished in my car... FAR FAR FAR better sound both front and rear with properly amped front comps and a good sub than when u had some shlt azz 6X9 in the back of your head... honestly.... running a good set of front comps and sub(s), will always sound better than running that plus some coaxials...SURROUND SOUND IS FOR THEATER PERPOUSES ONLY, MUSIC IS RECORDED IN 2 CHANNEL STEREO NOT SURROUND SOUND, IM SO FUKKING SICK OF PEOPLE USING THAT TERM IN CAR AUDIO, ITS SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO WRONG AND MISLEADING, SERIOUSLY STOP SAYING IT! sorry if i come off as a jerk, but yet AGAIN i dont want to see people misinforming anyone, surround sound is NOT NOT NOT NOT NOT NOT NOT NOT NOT NOT NOT anything to do with music AT ALLLLL!!!!!!

Just for shizz and giggles, listen to some combichrist, Rammstein, Panzer AG, and most other electronica/industrial. Its recorded as 4 channel.
Its still your oppinion on what sounds better. If your so concerned about music blaring at your head, even though the speakers are mounted straight up, and not even near your head, You still have another option. Its called center channel.

a sorry azz mic on a camera will never be able to record good full sound from any sound system unfortunately ... and as for some bands recording in 4 channel.. im highly doubting that, and i DO listen to Rammstien,... and in order to do a PROPER surround sound OR center channel, it takes a lot more than just having 4 or 5 speakers....im actualy glad you mentioned competitions now that i think of it... the reason competition cars usualy are running basic 2, or 3-way set ups, wether passive or active, is because in Sound Quality competitions they're looking for the cleanest, most natural and all around best SOUND QUALITY... there's a pattern here, no? what im trying to say is that you can argue this up and down all day long, but no matter what you are used to in your car, or anyone elses, no matter what you force your ears to think is better, i will ALWAYS say this and everyone is probly sick of me saying this Bad(or maybe just worse than it could be), will sound good untill you hear better.....proper amping and EQ'ing of a good front stage with good imaging and a good sub or set of subs to pick up the low end will always be the cleanest, rear fill can be done to compliment the front stage, but the higher the frequency, the more directional it is, dragging your front stage to the back, mudding things up and more speakers could also introduce some cancelation... rear fill is usualy in the midbass region, generaly the 60-200hz area. honestly, i dont know everything about everything, but i do know a lot about a select few things,and i will stand behind my words when i KNOW im not misleading... if i think i might mislead someone i just dont give advice.. and im not scared to ask questions when i dont know something either..so with this whole rant what im saying is this... YOU might prefer your set up, have you sat in a vehicle set up like i described? a properly set up system built for SQ? i speak from knwledge AND experience, something that will sway an opinion very much....

I also know from Knowledge and experiance. I have done installs on both type of stages, Sq and SPL. And i tune them as well, And get paid a good amount of money to do it. But what ever.

I have never said you should worship me, And i don't do installs for a living. I do make good money doing it since getting a proper education in the field (MECP).
You need to stop, and read what was posted, and not reply like you know best. This is an open forum, which means people have the ability and right to post THEIR OPINIONS, whether their education or personal experience is behind it.

just because they do not require alot of power doesnt mean its ok to add in tweeters. It still changes the final impedence presented to your amp. which if it is below what it is rated for is gonna be bad. Also tweeters are not going to stop the power from getting to them. They are gonna take the power that the amp is giving them. regardless if it is too much or too little.
