1400ws what do i need
Monday, May 15, 2006 12:02 PM
Ok I have two v12 Amps one is about 400watts running my speakers, and 1 is 1000 watts for the subs. I keep reading that Caps can hurt more than help. Would i be better off just buying a Optima Battery? Or should I look into a 1.5f cap, that i really dont have a mounting place for..

For SPL or SQ? Everyone says SPL is hindered by capacitors; I try not to argue it because I don't want the attention. But for SQ I know for a fact that capacitors will help. But do the big 3 first, and get an Optima or some other sort of deep cycle battery and try that first.

What the hell is the big 3. I keep seeing it but dont know what it is. And yeah im not looking to upgrade everything right now. So if i would be better off with a new battery then ill do it.

Also SPL. Although i do enjoy nice quality sound, im all about the noise....

It's in the post about doing 2000+ cav radios, it's also on the first page just scroll down a bit and it says "The big 3" I think, it's the wries from your batt to ground, alt to batt, engine to ground, all the wires that create a nice big mess of crap for your electrical current to pass through nicely. It makes a big difference and is known to also eliminate alt whine etc, or so I've been told.

That's basically it. It's not really expensive to do, just takes the time t oreplace the wires with better quality stuff. It'll really help a lot. Ever see those ads for "Hyper voltage systems"? It's basically the same thing just gone about in a different way. It stabilizes the voltage and helps the charging system work more efficiently.

it's just your not replacing the existing wires. your just adding new ones ontop of the pre existing ones.
