I'm a young kid with a minimum wage job so i'm on a tight budget. Which components would sound best for the price? I'm just looking for some opinions from people who have heard a lot of systems.
best thing i've ever done for my audio system was get a set of infinity reference 6.5 components. sound awesome.
i THINK i got them on sale for like 120 or so.

i got mine at circuitcity.
i know a lot of people will also recommend kicker but i think they're a little more pricey.

I think Polk components are pretty decent, and they're around the same price as the Infinity Reference. I heard a set of JBL components a while back and they sounded alright, too.
under 200$ and blow infinity and pok out of the water CDT... go to woofersetc.com and click on CDT Audio on the right menu, click component speakers, then click sort by lowest price, first result should be a 6.5 inch comp set with some free dynamat door kit. those CDT's cant be beat for that price

the 6500s used to be $350, but due to popularity and the fact we sold so much, we passed the savings off to the customers.
the 6000s are GREAT speakers for the price, they used to be $175.
one thing ive seen with $100-200 components alot of times is the fact they are fairly bright or harsh. not the case with either the 6500s or 6000s.
What kind of power do u plan on having for the components? That makes a big difference too.

for $289 u can get a nine.2 and some 6000s. the nine.2 was reviewed in PAS magazine, u can check out the review on our website. work perfect together. or u can get a nine.4 and run the 6000s on the front and the rears on a single sub setup. nice easy system.

im not a rep. i work for the company. sorry if it pisses people off, ill stop it. its just that eD had a bad name at one time from haters, and i dont think they get enough credit, and dont see many, if any j bodies running elemental design stuff. Just trying to help people get a great product for an awesome price, but if they would rather pay retail for something, im fine with that.
ill stop.
as a side not, i dont see any commission or anything from sales, im just in the warehouse all day long.

To be honest, you can't go wrong with either CDT, OR Ed. Learn the difference between Titanium coned tweeters, silk, plastic, etc. SInce usually stuff in your price range will be silk or titanium. (plastic is in many cases ultra cheapo junk stuff) which means avoid.
Titantium = aggressive, very intense highs.
Silk = easy going, soft smooth crisp and defined.
Plastic = aggressive, fidelity is no where near the above 2.
aluminum = never had the pleasure of listhening to, but similar to a titanium tweeter.

bring back the flat cone u say? 13Av2 is in development, should be out within the year. it will be a true 13" speaker, 12" diameter cutout. Flat cone.....possably

the new one has been 2+ years in the making, will be an SQ driver at heart, but take 1500 watts and a beating all day long. and get loud while doing it.
