So, I tried searching (basic and advanced) and didn't come up with any answers so figure I'd make a new topic...
I'm in the midst of doing a stereo install on our 2005 cavalier.
I need to know the disassembly instructions on how to get to the cd player...
Don't you have to pop the top of the dash off? or disengage the airbags? See, I'm not sure and I like to go into things knowing 100%.
Thx for your input
-David
Yes, the top dash comes off. You don't do anything with the airbags though, you're just taking the cover off.
-Chris
OK, thx.
So we have two pieces, the whole top part then the entire front piece?
And what I was looking for are possible screw locations? or clip locations?
Thanks again, very fast response!
take the top of the dash off, then the bezel has like 3 screws then it pops off, there are some clips, but nothing too difficult
Go Premium, it builds character!
Thanks for the advice!
(love your signature, haha)
Whatever you do, don't forget about the 2 screws in the glove box. The cover ain't coming off with those two in. If you look inside the glove box, you'll see a slot with 2 brass colored screws. Remove 'em.

i could do it in my sleep lol
just be careful with the plastic its very fragile
yup about 3 minutes apart and 3 minutes together. if that.
eh, seems like a ordeal to just get to the damn deck!! haha...I think I'll attempt this on Saturday.
Its not as hard as it sounds. I took it off without asking anyone. Just make sure you remember which screws you take out.
It's not hard at all once you do it the first time. I could install a deck on my lunch hour now. The first time is just learning.
