Question about dash.
Wednesday, April 19, 2006 6:24 AM

The dash piece that is directly at the front. the one what you dont have to remove to when tearing the dash down. Alot of people have it crack on them. That one. Well anyway. Is there a way to remove it easily. if not. what is behind it? I need to cut out 2 holes to mount some tweeters, and i didnt want to cut into any wires. Has anyone tried tweeters there? how was the imaging and stage height? Im in the process of deadening my car with Elemental Designs eDead v1, V3, and V4. Once im done the front stage gets started.

you are gonna be too far away for imagine i think. I'm not an sq guy but your best bet would probably be to do kicks. well aimed kicks.

double stick the tweets up there and have a listen. time alignment is great if your the only person in the car, but if you have a passanger its going to sound bad for them.

That piece is part of the entire dash... pop off one of the side panels and you can see where it's one huge piece of plastic.

You are referring to the JL Audio set up with the 2 tweeters about a foot apart at the center of the dash along the windshield right? That was my first setup and didn't sound that great, but it was 6 years ago without time allignment. You need a professional tuner to make it work, you won't get it on your own like the demo vehicle.

But yes that part of the dash rest on a metal ridge with a rubber pad directly under it. You have to remove the steering wheel to get that part of the dash out.
