Audiophiles and tweak-geeks, Rockford Fosgate's 3Sixty.2 processor offers you the best of all possible worlds. You can keep your factory in-dash stereo, yet still enjoy the high-performance sound that only premium components and extensive sound-shaping features can provide.

While it's true that factory sound systems have gotten better, even the top-of-the-line options don't always deliver sound that satisfies discriminating listeners. And it's not always easy to replace a newer factory stereo — many automobile manufacturers tie the audio controls together with other critical system components, such as climate controls. The 3Sixty.2 lets you add external amplifiers to power premium speakers and subwoofers, and adjust your sound to an unprecedented degree.

Upgrading your factory system
No matter what kind of system you have, from a simple, four-speaker setup to a high-end factory 5.1 surround-sound system, the 3Sixty.2 lets you connect amplifiers to drive your speakers and subs without forcing you to tear apart your dash. You just make power and ground connections, then connect your vehicle's speaker wires to the high-level inputs, and you're ready to set up your new system.

The six preamp outputs supply signal to your front, rear, subwoofer, and center channel amplifiers. You still control your sources with the factory in-dash stereo, and you can keep using steering-wheel stereo controls or any other special factory equipment in your vehicle.

To make sound adjustments, you'll need a Palm® device with Bluetooth® capability (sold separately). The package includes the software you upload onto your Palm device, which lets you adjust the sound wirelessly from anywhere in the car. This lets you mount the 3Sixty.2 in any convenient, out-of-the-way spot.

Tweaking the sound
The 3Sixty.2 initially sets a flat equalization curve, which cancels any factory tone preset and compensates for deficiencies in your factory stereo's sound processing. After that, you get up to 153 bands of equalization to adjust — 31 bands each for the front left and right speakers, 27 bands each for the rear left and right speakers, 27 bands for a center channel if you have one, and 10 bands for your subwoofer. You can fine-tune to the "nth" degree, getting the kind of sound that fits your vehicle's natural acoustics like a glove.

The time alignment feature lets you select a listening spot in the vehicle, and adjust the sound from each speaker so that it reaches that spot at the same time. The result? A perfect sonic "sweet spot." Comprehensive crossovers maximize efficiency and clarity by sending your speakers and subs the exact frequencies they were designed to handle. A subsonic filter prevents ultra-low, inaudible frequencies from reaching your subs and diminishing their performance.

When you're done adjusting your sound, you can save your settings to your Palm device. You can experiment with different sound settings comfortably, safe in the knowledge that you can return to your preferred settings anytime you like. And you'll be able to see a before-and-after comparison of your system's sound quality on your Palm device.

Bring along the extra sources
Bring your iPod® or any external source along — the 3Sixty.2 offers you an auxiliary input for easy connection. You also get a 31-band equalizer on the auxiliary input, too, which lets you get high-end performance out of your portables.

Works with your brand-name stereo
It's not just factory stereos that benefit from the 3Sixty.2 — you can use it with brand-name aftermarket stereos, too. You can connect more amps than your current stereo allows, and, more importantly, tweak the sound 'til it's note-perfect.

I like it except for having to have a palm pilot for it and the price, but it's still nice.

Except the clean sweep doesn't do near as much or have as many features as this one.

get a properly tuned box, with the right subs, and a killer set of comps, some nice amps to power them, a great head unit with the right settings and functions to set everything up right, sound deadener can be a plus as well.. then when the whole stereo is set up, and tuned properly, u got good imaging and all that is taken care of... then tell me why u would need that big retarded overpriced band aid

In the end of my audio set up i will have good subs, amps, comps and a great hu.
I just like having more adjustablity than -10 to 10 for bass and -7 to 7 for treble.

your head unit should have more adjustments than that, what kinda head unit u running? in all honesty, the head unit and amps adjustments should be plenty for a nice SQ set up, you shouldnt need that big expensive bullsh!t...the install is going to be the biggest factor in the sound quality of the system, reguardless of how u try to make up for poor install or poor imaging with expensive EQ's and sh!t like that, if its not done right from the beginning it will never reach its full potential

do some research on the 50 series, if u can find a good condition used or left over 30 series thats the way i would go, much more adjustability and the time correction DOES work, and DOES help a ton with SQ. just my personal advice. me personaly, im running a 9831 and couldnt be happier

ya time correction would be nice.
I think i might look at the 50 series. I can sell mine and get into a 50 series for prolly about another $100 or so.
Now are you talking the new 50 series or last years 50 series???

either or, if i remember right, the 9851-55 all have time correction, lemme double check on the head unit specs again tho. but as far as quality, sound, functions, and over all greatness, i will recomend an alpine head unit over any other brand all day long! cant go wrong with any of their lines, even your 47, but i personaly like the added features and adjustments on the slightly higher end models, its a shame they stopped the 30-35's those own

i disagree 1badcav. no matter how much work on the install you do an eq can still be a great benifit to the car because you will never have a perfect listening envirement in the audiomobile. and if the 360 is similar to jl's clean sweap then youlle be able to get great sound out of your stock sound system meaning you can have a completly stealh install without a single piece of aftermarket geat being seen. time correction is nice if you doing the install for one person. thrwo two people in the mix and time correction doesnt always help the situation.

crossover
13band eq
time alignment
dsp
bbe
autoEQ

really don't need much more then that

allows you to delay any of the speakers so that the sound reaches you at the same time from both sides and centers the soundstage. usefull if you have one speaker farther away from you then the other.

selfish bastard lol im used to competing so for me sound has to be good for both passengers.

a 13 band eq would be good enough if you can change what bands each one adjusts.

Sadly, enthusiaists forget today that the more adjustable bands in your EQ = will make your music more unatural. Why could the audiophiles back in the 80's still compete pretty well with 1/20th the technology we have today ? One of the best SQ decks to come out in the last 10 years was the Alpine CDA 7995. It had a good amount of features, such as base focus, Time correction built in chrossover, 24bit DAC and only a 2 band EQ ! Surprise ? No, not really. Systems have become dumbed down, and simplified.

To be honest all you could really want

-5 band EQ with wave length adjustment.
-Decent chrossover setup, with adjustable gain for the fronts, rear, and sub, with a DB slope which cab be set beween FLAT to 18 or 24.
-Time Correction
-bass focus
-BBE (again...
-24 BIT dac
-Int Mute, Int deck amplifier shutoff.
-True 4v Preouts. (not that overated 6v and 8v bull@!#$)
-Noise filter.
-An extremely well built/designed box.

27 bands per channel ? Come on..
