Alarm Install

Alright, so I have an '03 Sunfire and I am trying to install a Viper 300 alarm. I need to get to the ignition wires, but Im having a hard time doing so. Do I need to remove the whole console to gain access underneath the steering column? It looks as thought its all one big piece going from underneath the steering wheel right acrodd the radio to the other side around the glove box. Any tips or tricks that would help me out would be great!!!!

Thanks

then you can pull it down and out of the dash. thats what i had to do. but i recomend pulling your drivers side seat its WAY easier. just my .02$ tho.

go under vehicle wiring diagrams.
It'll show you how to get to them.

I just did mine in my '04 fire. It was a pain but it wasn't un-do-able.

One Question on the installation on the BCM. Do you just tap in the wires to the harness of the BCM? No relay needed? Example: To install the truck release on a universal keyless entry, do I just tap it directly into that wire?

im almost positve your going to need a relay as i think its a negative trigger and the alarm brain sends a positive trigger anybody correct me if im wrong

However, are the wires off the BCM grounded as well. Like the brown one for the parking lights? Do I run a relay that grounds that wire to the body?

Parking Lights will be directly to the parking light wire on the BCM as long as the alarm gives the same trigger as the parking light needs. You don't need a relay.

Dome light will look like this:

Trunk will look like this:

If any of the triggers from your alarm are NOT negative then you will need to swith the 86 to negative and then 85 will be your positive trigger from the alarm.

I hope this helps, ask if it doesn't.
